Stirling Energy Systems aims to commercialize a decades-old technology that is the most efficient at converting sun power to electricity but which has struggled with costs and reliability.

(FOX 11 News Los Angeles: Fri, 28 Mar) Southern California Edison plans to build the nation's largest solar energy installation. The plan is to build an array of collector cells covering two square miles of commercial building rooftops that could power about 162,000 homes. The utility says it asked state regulators for approval to begin installing the technology throughout the region over the next five years.
