Africa starts to tap solar energy for IT
(InfoWorld via Yahoo! News: Tue, 27 Mar) Governments and development organizations in Eastern and Southern Africa are starting to adopt solar energy to bolster energy resources for ICT (information and communication technology) in rural areas.

Major solar power plant opens in Portugal's south
(Reuters via Yahoo! News: Wed, 28 Mar) One of the world's largest solar energy plants, covering the hills of a valley dotted with olive groves in southern Portugal, started delivering electricity to about 8,000 homes on Wednesday.

Massive Solar Power Plant Inaugurated
(AP via Yahoo! Finance: Wed, 28 Mar) The world's largest-producing solar power plant was inaugurated Wednesday in Portugal. The 11-megawatt, 61 million euro plant, a joint project of U.S energy companies GE Energy Financial Services, PowerLight Corporation, and Portuguese renewable energy company Catavento, spreads across a 150-acre hillside in Serpa, 124 miles southeast of Lisbon.
