PG&E announces $600,000 in 'solar schools' grants
(The Eureka Reporter) Pacific Gas and Electric Co. has announced the 30 schools selected to receive an installation of a 1.3 kilowatt solar generation system at the Solar Power 2006 Conference in San Jose.

Alternative energy lighting it up
(San Francisco Chronicle) David Pearce's startup Miasole is in a mad dash to figure out a more cost-effective way to manufacture solar cells. So far, he's been getting help from big investors including venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, whose portfolio of success stories includes Google and Sun Microsystems.

NDP's Solar Energy Plan the only workable plan
(New Democratic Party of Canada ) "NDP Energy Critic, Dennis Bevington showed that the New Democratic Party is the only political party with workable ideas for developing Canada's solar industry. Speaking at the Canadian Solar Industries Association's 2006 conference Bevington took delegates through the broad strokes of how the NDP would support the solar industry."
